Let the blogging begin!
Posted on January 31st, 2007 by pstinson
It has only been a few days, and I haven’t progressed very far in making advanced used of blogs. I haven’t even figured out how to put one of those neat little maps on the site that show where site visitors are from. However, I am going to put this site to work whether it is ready or not.
The following question is for my Semester 2 IP30 students; although since this is a blog and I haven’t put in any restrictions, it is therefore actually open to anyone in the world who happens upon this page.
Do you think that blogging in this course could be educational? How?

I think that blogging would make the course more interesting. It takes IP out of the classroom and into the real world. It would be educational because its not one of the practial skills taught in school.
I think that blogs are about anything you want them to be. So I think that if you wanted to educate kids more about IP30 and how everything works then that would be cool. I think that if you entered a blog everyday about IP kids and even I would learn lots by reading it and giving ideas.
I think that it would be really cool if the blogs stay open to anyone and randome strangers put in their opinions because that would give us all a chance to learn somethign new. I think that if it was only us talking and commentign back and forth it would be useless since we could just talk to eachother in real life.
I think that we could all learn something if the blog stays open to everyone. i would likr to hear what randome strangers have to say. If it was only us doin IP30 that commenetd it wopuld be useless because we could just tell eachother in person <.>
-Note: This is a welcomed post with an interesting point. I hope that Joel will forgive me for using it also as an opportunity to draw people’s attention to the benefits of reading over your post before sending it in order to correct obvious typos and errors.
You have valid points and interesting ideas, and unclear writing can distract from this. On the other hand, occasional errors may slip past the bst of us, right?
I think that Blogs would be good for IP because you could learn from what other people say and get different ideas of something.
Blogging would be useful to learn in this class. IP30 would be a good way to learn the proper techniques to it.
I think that blogging would be a good for this course because not only can it teach you a thing or two but it can help you on your typing. I also think that it puts us students in a position where we are learning without realizing it.
I think that blogging could be educational if you chose to use your blog in that way. Normally, the blogs that we are used to in our modern culture and media are about anything and everything, and are not very often “educational” in the traditional meaning of the word. I think that if we used blogs in IP then it would help us really think about what we are doing because by using a blog we can relate to our lives in a manner that we are accustomed to.
i think blogs can be interesting in some ways and helpful and in some ways not. But they do let people see all of your thoughts and opinions.
I think with the growing popularity of “blogging”, learning about it would be interesting. I think it would also be educational because of the amount of people who use this form of communication. It is an easy way to find out other people’s opinions and thoughts.
i think bloggings realy good because you can hear what other people think and say
I Think Blogging would be good with IP becasue it lets you hear what other people have to say, and you would get differnt view’s.
I think blogging would be somwewhat educational in this course, but isn’t IP having to do with business? Correct me if i’m wrong but if you worked in an office i don’t think part of your job would be to type blogs on the internet. I understand that you are gaining more knowledge by learning about it, but seriously? If i want to type faster, blogging is only practising my typing skills. But then again it does help you learn about using blogging. So, i guess it would be up to the people in the course and the teacher, if they feel that it is necessary then go for it!
