IP30 – Tues Feb 27 – Page Layouts, Community Meetings

Good morning.

The focus today will be to make some real progress in planning page layouts and getting to know the online design software. If you have not used it before, use the instructions provided on the Yearbook Project Page of this blog, and check with others who have used the program before.

There are a few layouts left to choose that can be completed (MUST be completed) before March 15. There are also some pages that are not assigned a topic as yet, so if you have a good idea, pitch it to Mr. Stinson today and we’ll see what we can do.

If you need to take photos for your layout, make arrangements to do so as soon as possible. Part of this course will involve digital photography, so now is as good a time as any to begin. If your layout already has pictures taken (for example, basketball, except for the team shots), you will still have the opportunity to take pictures for other projects.

By the end of today, please let me know what community meeting you would like to attend to observe how meetings are held. Groups of 2-4 may arrange to attend any particular meeting. So far, Joel and Kody have chosen to approach Town Council. They will need to contact Council before the beginning of March to explain what we are doing and ask permission to attend their next meeting. At the meeting, your main jobs will be to observe how the meeting is organized, and how minutes of the meeting are kept. You will also need to request a copy of their minutes from their previous meeting, and the agenda the meeting you attend.

There you go. I look forward to seeing how things progress today.
